Caitlyn ScottDirector of Human ResourcesCaitlyn joined Hope in 2015 shortly after completing her bachelor’s degree in business with a concentration in human resource management and receiving her Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification. Always eager to further her career and driven by the important work that Hope does, Caitlyn has held various HR roles including Business Partner, HR Manager, and now her current role as the Director of Human Resources. Through her partnership with programs and her oversight of recruiting, hiring, benefits & compensation, training, employee relations, and scheduling, she works to ensure and enhance the effectiveness of Hope’s workforce initiatives. She believes in seeing people for their capabilities and not their limitations, a philosophy that she applies to both the staff and support recipients at Hope. Her values align closely with those of Hope, particularly the values of joy, relationships, and opportunity. Her middle name is ‘Joy,’ which adds a special significance to her alignment with this value. The relationships she has formed at Hope have been a source of support and celebration throughout her journey, making them invaluable and lifelong. She sees the opportunity to grow professionally and give back to her community as essential aspects of her work at Hope. Reflecting on her accomplishments in the human services field, Caitlyn takes pride in the relationship she has bridged between Hope and the programs team. She has built a strong HR team that serves as a true partner to the organization. Her servant-leadership approach has made a significant impact, fostering a culture within her team that seeks creative solutions to meet needs and requests. She always looks for a way to say ‘yes.’ Her enthusiasm, optimism, and ability to rally people together have also been beneficial in leading her team through dynamic and complex changes and challenges. Originally from south Alabama, Caitlyn moved to Alaska in her youth and has lived here for the majority of her adulthood. Outside of work, she cherishes her role as a mother to three active boys and also takes an interest in gardening, paddle-boarding, running, and reading. She is actively involved in volunteer work within her community, dedicating time at her children’s school, their football team, and her church. Sharing her home with their family dog, Sakari, and a cat named Topaz adds to her fulfilling life outside of her professional pursuits. |
