We're preparing for our third annual ‘Hope’s Got Talent’ Talent Show! This year’s event will take place on Friday, September 12, 2025, from 5:30–7:30pm.

The Lesko Discovery Center is looking for our employees and the people we support—singers, musicians, dancers, magicians, comedians, jugglers, and more—to showcase their talents on stage! Auditions are by appointment only, and will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays during the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th weeks of August. (Refer to the flyer for specific dates.) To schedule an audition, call 907‑433‑1700. Please share this opportunity and encourage others to sign up.

Every year, the Alaska State Fair hosts an event for attendees with disabilities. The Embracing Disabilities Expo features resource information booths, a calm-down sensory area, sensory activities, and more. Stop in and help support our artists’ dreams and goals and get the info needed to bring our communities and families together.

This is also an opportunity for providers, community organizations, and businesses to connect with people and families attending the Fair. The date for the event will be Monday, August 18 from 11am to 4:30pm at the Alaska State Fairgrounds Event Building (located near the purple gate) in Palmer. If you are interested in signing up, the cost is $40 per booth space. Reach out to Samantha Vetter and Lanny Mommsen to sign up and register.

Save the date! Get ready for our All-Agency Meeting where we’ll come together to share agency updates, celebrate accomplishments, recognize our amazing staff, and more! For those able to attend in-person, join us at the Bear Tooth Theatrepub in Anchorage; for our regional and remote team members, the meeting will also be live streamed on Zoom. Attendance is mandatory, so please coordinate with your supervisor ahead of time to ensure you can participate. Support recipients are welcome to join with accompanying support staff accompany them. This year’s theme is a glow party—feel free to wear your brightest neon attire! Glow accessories will be provided for in-person attendees.

Hope is facilitating a 'Friendships and Dating' course for young adults (ages 19-26). This course will begin on October 20 and will take place over five weeks with sessions on Mondays and Thursdays from 5:00 – 7:00pm.

The session will include topics such as personal boundaries, feelings, types of relationships, communication, personal safety, sexual health, gender differences, social activities, the dating process, and more.

Hope’s Lesko Discovery Center team is preparing for their fourth annual Handmade Holiday Craft Fair!

They’re inviting artists and crafters to reserve a table and showcase their handmade creations—whether it’s hand-painted keepsakes, jewelry, ornaments, artwork, crocheted items, or other unique crafts. Each table is $35, and completed applications must be received by November 8, 2025.
