What is the Deaf Navigator Program?
The Deaf Navigator program is designed to provide a range of resources and services to Deaf and Hard of Hearing Alaskans aimed at improving long-term employment and housing opportunities.
Available Services
The Deaf Navigator program offers a comprehensive range of services designed to support Deaf and Hard of Hearing Alaskans.
- Navigation and coordination of community resources. The program offers assistance with accessing and utilizing various community resources across the State of Alaska.
- Health and social services. Receive guidance and support in managing health and social services tailored to the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals.
- Employment Services. Our team provides resources and support for job seekers, including job placement assistance and career counseling.
- Housing services. Receive help in finding and securing appropriate and accessible housing options.
- Training Sessions. Our team provides training to employers and service providers to educate them on the specific needs and best practices for working with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities.
- Free Public Access. The program offers free public access to a computer, videophone, caption phone, and TTY, ensuring people have the necessary tools for communication and connectivity.
- Outreach and marketing Efforts. Our program specialists reach and support rural communities, ensuring they have access to necessary resources and services.
