Neuro-Inclusive Community Living Forum
Join us for a free, in-person community forum to discuss future housing needs and neuro-inclusive community models for people who experience intellectual and developmental disabilities.
As more Alaskans who experience intellectual and developmental disabilities reach adulthood—and families are planning for the future—how can we ensure everyone has the supports, opportunities, and sense of belonging they need at every stage of life?
Hope Community Resources invites you to an in-person community forum to explore future housing needs, intentional communities, neuro-inclusive housing models, and a planned life-sharing community in the Mat-Su Valley called Ptarmigan Commons*.
Whether you are a person who experiences a disability, a family member, caregiver, provider, advocate, community partner, or simply interested in learning more, we invite you to be part of the conversation.
During this forum, you’ll learn about:
- The growing need for neuro-inclusive housing and lifelong housing options in Alaska.
- What intentional communities are and how the life-sharing model supports belonging, independence, and meaningful lives.
- Different approaches to neuro-inclusive housing, including Hope's planned life-sharing community in the Mat-Su Valley, Ptarmigan Commons*.
- How these models can complement existing disability services and expand housing choices for people with disabilities and their families.
- Opportunities to ask questions, share your perspective, and stay involved as the project moves forward.
*Ptarmigan Commons is envisioned as an intentional, life-sharing housing community in the Mat-Su Valley where adults who experience intellectual and developmental disabilities can lead full, meaningful lives while staying connected to the greater community. Join us at the forum to learn more about this innovative housing model, explore the vision for Ptarmigan Commons, and discover whether it may be a good fit for you or your loved one.
