The Kenai Peninsula Region is unique in the fact they are the only Hope operation to date, to have a recreational facility.  The Hope Community and Recreation Center is what sets Hope apart from other service providers in the area.  Purchased in 2007, the center serves as a welcoming, respectful and inclusive environment for not only people who experience disabilities, but also for all people who want to be a part of the community. The center is a hub for many inclusive activities such as yoga, cooking classes, self-defense classes, dances, and gardening, along with community functions.  We just completed the addition of office space to the center and now all of our services are located in one central location.

Services Specific to Region:

Soldotna Rec Center

Hope currently owns and supports three single-family homes in the Kenai Peninsula Region and assists seven family habilitation providers, but the majority of their services, 80%, are focused on natural family services.

This region was one of the first, outside of Anchorage, to be able to provide supports to children with complex medical conditions, enabling them to remain at home, within the community of their choice.  The region currently provides extensive supports to 17 children with complex medical conditions.

Community Involvement

The Kenai Peninsula Region is very focused on building relationships and encourages the folks who choose Hope's supports to be involved in their community.  Several people are building relationships through volunteering at the Kenai Animal Shelter, Community Sports Center, Wash and Dry Laundry Mat, Little People's Daycare, Trustworthy Hardware Store, Kenai Food Bank, Trinity Green House, Forget-Me-Not Seniors Program, Central Peninsula Hospital, Ninilchik Senior Center and Recycling Program.

Throughout the year the region hosts small fundraisers and participates in the Virtual Walk & Roll for Hope to raise funds specifically for their recreation program.
