Housing provided to students free of charge is dormitory style living. Our main student house is a 6 bedroom facility with 3 bathroom, 4 showers, a large living room, solarium and large communal kitchen.
There is also a backyard with a BBQ area and the housing is located near the university and many of Anchorage’s most beautiful trails.
Additional housing during the summer months is sourced according to needs; this usually takes the form of university campus housing.

Students usually purchase international and domestic calling cards at grocers located near student housing or at any of the major department stores in Anchorage. Students going to regional areas for placement are advised to purchase a number of calling cards prior to departure from Anchorage

Depending on the time of year you come to Alaska, the weather can be vastly different. Winter is quite cold and students should bear in mind that a good pair of hiking boots, a warm ski-jacket and thermal layers are recommended. Summer is glorious; the only thing to remember is BUG SPRAY. The mosquito is the ‘unofficial’ state bird!
