Program Highlight:
Although the Seward/Resurrection Bay Region is a very small program, it provides a much needed connection to the rest of the state for the people who choose Hope’s support in the area. Seward is a small and somewhat remote community. Hope’s presence assists people in being accepted and included in their community and that of their neighboring communities of the Kenai Peninsula and Anchorage. Operation of this region is overseen through the Soldotna/Kenai Peninsula regional office.
Services Specific to the Region:
Hope owns and operates one assisted living home in Seward and supports another individual in their natural home. Community education and outreach is a priority in this region.
Community Involvement:
People choosing Hope’s supports in this region are very well known, as they spend a lot of time volunteering and working in the community. They are a very integral part of the fabric of the community.
There is also a Community Resource Team (CRT) that helps educate and fundraise within the community on behalf of the program. This group is made up of family members, professionals and members of the community who want to advocate for people who experience disabilities. Each year they participate in and promote the Virtual Walk & Roll for Hope to benefit the local program.
