Employees
who work 30 hours or more per week in a regularly scheduled position
are eligible for Hope Community Resources, Inc.'s (Hope's) benefit package.
The package includes sick and vacation leave, paid holidays, health
and life insurance and more. Benefits become more extensive with longevity.

As of hire
or transfer to benefit-eligible position, employees are eligible for:
- Holiday pay for 9 specified holidays throughout the calendar year.
- 3 days paid Bereavement Leave for death of a family member.
- Voluntary automatic payroll deductions into a tax-deferred annuity
account of the employee's choice (no matching contributions by Hope
at this time).
After 3 months in a benefit-eligible position, employees are eligible
for:
- Sick leave, 10 days per year.
The first of the month after 90 days in a benefit-eligible position, employees
are eligible for:
- Health insurance, currently with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alaska;
first year includes medical and prescription coverage.
- Life insurance, currently with Jefferson Pilot Financial Insurance Company; coverage is for twice
an employee's annual salary, rounded to the next thousand.
- Hope pays all premiums for benefit-eligible employees; new employees may be subject to a monthly $50 co-pay.
- Employees can add dependents onto their health insurance the first
year at their own cost.
- Dependent life insurance for up to $2,000 is also covered at no cost
to the employee.
After 6 months in a benefit-eligible position, employees are eligible
for:
- Vacation leave, 10 days the first year (will have 5 days after 6 months).
After 1 year in a benefit-eligible position, employees are eligible
for:
- Increase in vacation leave accrual to 15 days per year.
- 3% pay increase based on meeting standards on first annual evaluation.
As of the first anniversary date of eligibility for health insurance:
- Dental coverage is added onto the employee's health insurance.
- Hope will now pay 50% of dependent health insurance premiums.
After 2 years in a benefit-eligible position, employees are eligible for:
- Short-term Disability coverage.
- Long-term Disability coverage.
As of the second anniversary date of eligibility for health insurance:
- Vision coverage is added onto the employee's health insurance.
After 3 years in a benefit-eligible position, employees are eligible for:
- Increase in vacation leave accrual to 20 days per year.
Fourth anniversary date of eligibility for health insurance:
- Hope will now pay 100% of the monthly premiums for dependent health
insurance coverage; dependents can be added at this time.
After 10 years in a benefit-eligible position, employees are eligible
for:
- Increase in vacation leave accrual to 25 days per year.
