This includes assisting the individual in adapting to home, school and community environments. The Mental Health Associate implements therapeutic activities with individuals, primarily children, experiencing challenging behaviors. This involves supporting the individual and family in designing the social & recreational planning based on individual skill development. Both BHAs & MHAs are responsible teaching living, social, communication and other needed life skills. The Community Health Nurse provides consultation and education to individuals, families and staff. Must be able to work independently in both urban and very remote communities, and may be called on to respond to crisis situations. |
