Hope's Leadership 

Executive Director - Stephen P. Lesko

With undergraduate degrees in psychology and special education (Fordham University/Mt. St. Mary College) and graduate degrees in pychoeducational diagnosis and learning theory (Yeshiva University), Steve came to Hope in 1979. In his 30+ years with the agency, he has always believed in the power of dreams and in recognizing and achieving the dreams of individuals who experience disabilities.  He is a constant advocate for non-abandonment, zero discharge, self-determination, and in the rights, dignity, value and unique gifts of all human beings.

Deputy Executive Director - Roy T. Scheller, Ph.D.

Roy joined the team at Hope in 1978 bringing with him a background in Anthropology and work in the field of Intellectual Disabilities in both New York and Massachusetts. During his 30 plus years at Hope, Roy has been primarily involved in the internal management of the organization as well as in overseeing the growth and development of the agency on a state, national, and international level.

Senior Deputy Director - Tonja R. Rambow

Tonja became part of the community of Hope in 1999. She brought with her an academic background in Psychology and experiences from the fields of senior services, behavioral/mental health and developmental disabilities. For more than a decade Tonja has been instrumental in Hope’s explorations of spirituality and culture; behavioral health supports; leadership and staff development.
