An Investment in Hope Community Resources
for Alaskans who Experience a Disability

Funds raised through various means help those of us at Hope Community Resources, Inc. (Hope) bridge annual funding gaps and allow the continuance of quality, progressive residential and employment supports to over 700 individuals who experience a disability and their families throughout Alaska.

To this end, we have a number of ways for individuals and business to help provide for future generations of Alaskans who experience disabilities and for the future of our agency.

In-kind contributions are greatly appreciated. Methods of contributing cash are outlined on the Annual Giving and Planned Giving pages of this site. In addition to cash gifts, many items are desirable as in-kind contribution. Items that wewould gladly accept are as follows:

- Airline Mileage/Coupons: Many airlines allow you to contribute your airline mileage to charities. We have six regional offices throughout Alaska and support many families in outlying areas of the state. Needless to say, our travel budget is a large, but necessary expense. In addition, airline tickets offered as prizes or auction items can be a valuable asset at our special events.

- Appliances: We will accept household appliances, as long as there is an immediately need for the item and it is less than four years old.

- Computer Equipment/Programs: At Hope we use IBM compatible and Power Macs in our day to day operations. We will accept equipment and programs that are compatible as long as there is an immediate need for the item.

- Food and Other Products: We conduct a number of special events throughout the year that rely heavily on in-kind contributions of food items. Please visit the Special Events page to see what items are needed.

- Household Goods: We will accept donations of new household items for use within the homes we support. Many people who live ndependently are on a very strict fixed income and have little to no extra spending money. Household items are something that can always be used.

- Specialized Medical Equipment: We will accept specialized medical equipment as long as there is an immediate need for it by one of the individuals choosing our support. If there is not a need, we can refer you to an agency in town that will accept it for use in a community lending library.

- Sporting Goods: We have an urban and rural subsistence program that assists individuals choosing our support in hunting and fishing. As this is not a fully funded program, there are many possibilities for one to provide items to enhance the program.

- Tickets: Tickets to concerts, plays, sporting events, etc. to distribute to the individuals choosing our support are welcome. Many of these folks are on a very fixed income and have little to no extra spending money for leisure time activities.
