2011 Camp Cara

A Summer of Fun!

Chris and Elva having funIt’s that time of year again and Hope Community Resources is getting ready for another fun filled, adventurous summer for the participants of Camp Cara.

The Public Relations and Resource Development Team will be working closely with the volunteer students from Ireland who will once again be running Camp Cara.  The camp is designed to provide hands on coordinating and teaching experiences for these students who are majoring in the field of leisure and adaptive recreation.  Because of their efforts we are able to provide opportunities for individuals who experience disabilities, and others, to learn and grow in an environment that is accepting, inclusive and overflowing with meaningful activities.

A variety of activities are offered each week (Camp Cara Schedule), in accordance to the theme.  All activities are staged out of Hope’s Learning Center at 570 W. 53rd Avenue.  The camps are from 10 am to 3 pm, Monday through Friday. Campers are responsible for their own transportation to and from camp.  Drop-off and pick-up times must be strictly adhered to unless prior arrangements are made. Drop off is 9:45-10:00 am and pick up is 3:00-3:15 pm.

Camp Cara is open to anyone who wishes to apply; however, there is a limited number of spaces available at each camp.  Priority will be given to applicants who have service hours through Hope that need fulfilling.  We will try our best to accommodate all applicants; but there is no guarantee.
