Speak for Change, a self-advocate group, is comprised of people who experience disabilities. Originating with Hope, Speak for Change has expanded its membership to any community member who experiences a disability. All that is required is the desire to make a positive impact on the lives of people who experience disabilities.
The Key Coalition is a grassroots organization that advocates for disability services in Alaska. It is made up of concerned citizens, families and service providers. Each February the coalition hosts the Key Campaign where families descend on Alaska’s capitol to bring their priorities in front of the legislators and tell their stories to affect positive change.
The 2016 Key Campaign will be held March 2-3. Orientation, unity dinner, silent auction and live auction will occur on March 2 at Centenial Hall in Juneau. Legislative visits, Capitol steps rally, and a visit to the Governor's home will occur on March 3. For more information, contact Barb at 433-4981.
