Hope Community Resources, Inc. (Hope)
is a private, not for profit agency operating in the state of Alaska. Incorporated
in 1968, we are the largest and only statewide provider of services to individuals
who experience a disability. Our main administrative office is located in
Anchorage (South Central
Region) with regional offices in Dillingham
(Bristol Bay Region), Kodiak
(Kodiak/Aleutian Region), Juneau
(Southeast Region), Seward
(Resurrection Bay Region), Wasilla
(Mat-Su Region) and Barrow (North Slope Region).
Working with the individuals choosing our supports, our desire is to provide
services based on individual choice and preference. We take the time to
listen to the individual and/or their families, and to actually hear what
they have to say about the services they want and where they would like
to receive them.
At Hope, we openly offer supports to any individual who has been selected
for services by the Division of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities.
Hope also practices a "no-discharge" policy through which families
and individuals have the security of knowing that when they select us for
their supports, we will never require them to leave on an involuntary basis.
Through these two practices, we believe that families and individuals find
the security that has often been missing in their lives.
Supporting over 700 people throughout the state of Alaska can provide many
challenges. Add to that the wide expanse of territory, weather conditions
and diversified cultural backgrounds found in Alaska and you will see the
challenges increase. At Hope we meet those challenges positively. With an
attitude of "whatever it takes," we have many unique and creative
ways to achieve the individual and/or familiy's desired outcome. |
